Long overdue introduction

Hi Bmw Fanatics,

I have been a member for years now but never had the courage to introduce myself. I joined the fanatics family after buying E46 318i 2005 model back in 2010. The car has been very good to me over the last 10 years. Bought the car at 72000km and now at 248000km.

After reading so many good E46 330i reviews, I decided to get myself one.
Took delivery of the car 2 weeks back. The sad part is that I have not been getting a chance to really drive it due to the lockdown. I jump at every opportunity to leave the house just so that I can drive it.
It is 2004 model with sunroof, electric folding mirrors, xenons and Harman Kardon speakers as extras.

Welcome and congrats on the new ride.
I never knew you got electric folding mirrors on e46 sedan. Thought it was only reserved for coupe and cabriolet.

Congrats on the new acquisition. The tone of the 330 alone is too awesome.

I also didn't know . Mirrors fold when locking the car with the key or manually using the button next to the mirror switch. They unfold automatically when you unlock the car.

I knew about this, even look into retrofitting it, but the requirements are quite high.

1st you need memory electric seats, not just electric but they need to record per key where the user set the driver seat.
2nd you need different mirror electronics which connect to the seats via canbus.

So I never bothered getting them since I never got hold of electric seats with the correct controllers to start with. Otherwise this was on my list.

I am curious though, do they drop when you put the car into reverse @Mdavadvd ?
You know, point down to assist you reverse parking.

Welcome and Congrats!

Do you still have the 318i?
Yep, I still have the 318i. Decided to keep it for now.
Might as well share the 318i pictures. I like my cars standard.

Congrats on the 330! As Firi said they sound great.
That’s a very well kept 318 with that mileage.
I agree on keeping them standard :)

What a treat it must moving from 318 to 330! How’s the feeling?

Yes, the left passenger mirror does drop down when you engage reverse. I initially thought the mirror was faulty .

It is indeed a treat and half. Loving every moment I get to fire the engine.
