Lights switches off - e36 bmw 328i

Hi all,

So the past 2 days I was driving. I then notice that my lights are switched off, but the switch by the wheel is on. the light goes off and then after 3 - 7 minutes it comes back on again.

Any ideas? Could it be the fuse?

If its the fuse then the lights won't work at all. I'm guessing your light switch (or LCM) is fried, have some diagnosis done to isolate the problem and hopefully it picks it up. (I know on our E46 328i the LCM was screwed and no diagnostic software could pick it up)

I had a problem with my previous 328i where the light switch was on but only the park lights came on and only the high beam would work when engaged.

Took it to my mechanic, he had to re-wire and put in new globes. After that it was working fine

mmm thanks guys... I have also notice something weird. The lights only switches off when I am like driving downhill (why only downhill?) and when I go uphill it comes back on.

Was driving early this morning to work and the lights work perfectly. Now I am really confused as why this only happens at night.
