Has anyone tried this or heard of this.....If so will this work on my LED tail lights? The warning lights are showing on the dash and when i switch my lights on the indicator lights stay on as well.....Can this sort it out??

All the lights work though (Brake, Park, indicators) The indicators flash fast though.....

LED Bulb Out Warning Canceling Resistor, with Slice Taps
NOTE: PRICE PER UNIT!! - ONLY ONE PER PACKET

This resistor kit can be connected in parallel with the low power bulbs to simulate the current drawn of the stock filament bulb.
Each resistor adds about 7W of load, which will solve the bulb out warning message on the newer European cars with can-bus system.
One resistor is required for each bulb. This resistor kit is not to be used on high power bulbs, blinker bulbs or halogen bulbs.

To install the kit, connect one wire of the resistor to the ground and the other wire to the positive wire.
You don't have to cut any wires. Just squeeze the slice taps.

Note : The resistor kit gets hot during operation, so do not let it get it in contact with plastic or painted parts

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy those resistors and DIY it.
But it should work, in terms of canceling the bulb out error.
Canceling the bulbout errors is something that I still want to experiment with.

What I mean is that the kit that is being sold is just a resistor with two pieces of wire connected to it and it might be cheaper to just buy some resistors and wire.
But R60 is probably not that bad, and I have no idea about the price of those 25W 25ohm (or is that 2.5ohm) cost, but thought it might be a good idea to have a look.

Edit: Had a quick look and a similiar resistor to the one in the pic seem to cost around R23 each unless you need more than 10 then its cheaper

But it should work for the rest of the tailights at least.
I am wondering if it wouldn't be possible to use smaller resistors if they are fitted in series, rather than in parallel as you would want resistors in series with your LED's in anyhow to limit the current and prolong their life.

We do use a box full of resistors for Volvo Trucks with LED trailer lights to keep the "light control Module" happy.
So resistors makes sense. But I think you have other problems with your mod first.

If you are running LED(s) for the parklight and it reads as an bulbout error the car will turn the indicator(s) on to substitute for the parklight(s) that is "not working".

legacy: I managed to find the M3 LED tail lights that were made to fit the four door models....

After connecting it, it worked fine, until i started the car and the error popped up on the dash and the indicators stayed on...only on the back lights....

I doubt it was the connections.....Like i said everything else works perfectly....

I know some Mercedes's the brake lights go on half power.
Thats cool but confusing.

If I am not mistaken there are ways of removing these "features" by changing things in the software, but I am not to sure.

Strange I have those exact same tail lights and have never gotten any sort of bulb out problem with them. Strange bery strange:thinking:
Did your tail lights come with fat resistors that you stick onto the side of the inside of the car? Mebe one of them went, thats all I can think of.

Maybe the guy who fitted it did it wrong.....Cos i took it to someone else and they couldnt do it cos there was no diagram for how it should be done.

Do you have this diagram or you can let me know who did yours so i can take it there

I did mine myself, all the resistors and everything was already installed in the wiring. Here is a picture of the fat resistors which are part of the lights:

I just plugged in the connector and everything worked perfectly:thinking:
