Leather Treatment

Hi guys,I have a slightly faded side bolster on my driver's seat which I want to get repaired. It's not bad at the moment, but I would rather get it sorted before the fade spreads. I have been told that Leather Pro are very good and reasonably priced, has anyone dealt with them before and been happy or unhappy with results?

No idea on the leather pro stuff, but the bolster fade is most likely due to general wear, it is not something that will spread.

+1 the wear wont really spread

but what will happen is that the leather over the bolster becomes finer/weaker and in time it could lead to it tearing

Have not tried them before, but ask them if they're going to re-dye or just respray. Apparently, the respray looks awesome for about 2 mins then wears off again with a bit of normal use. A proper re-dye takes much longer and is a bit more $, but worth it in the long run.

One of my old cars leather was resprayed by the previous owner a month before I bought it. When I got the car it was awesome, but just normal/regular use and 6 months later, it looked like cr@p.

Also, wherever you decide to take it, please put up some before and after pics

Resprayed leather is just as long lasting as re-dyed leather given that you maintain it with quality moisturizers often.

Most of the time companies that do the spray work will moisturize it before you get it back but fail to tell you the above, and then it wears and very quickly.

Thanks for the info guys. I know some of the Audi guys have used them and have been very impressed with the results, hence the query if anyone here had used them before. Their website shows before and after pics, but the internet can be the biggest lie out there, I'm sure we all know that!
It's not the fade that worries me so much, I had an issue on my RS4 where the leather faded and thinned on the driver's seat and eventually wore through, which I DON'T want to happen on my beloved M.... I will let you guys know what the outcome is price wise and the result of the repair and post pics, then I guess just watch it over time and see what happens.

Hi there,

I use black nuggest shoe polish on the leather of my M Coupe and it works wonders! Leave it on whilst car is in the sun. Buff it of the next day and then put leather care on it.....looks like new.

Hope it helps.

Doesn't that rub off on your clothes?
That would be my luck.
If this works I'm in.

Don't suppose you've got any before and after pics.
My steering wheel is almost 10 years old now and could do with some refurbishment.
Prices?
