Leaded or Unleaded?

I miss 97 leaded here at the coast. Mainly because of that healthy white-ish residue on the exhaust. Man the M5 had such a good looking exhaust pipe, especially after a good run.

I still remember a few year ago, I was still doing a lot of driving between Cape Town and Mosselbay. Drove up for weekends every second weekend. This was when I was still driving the 325is. First thing I did when I stopped after the long run, is to check out the colour on the exhaust.

E36 handbook says " Higher grade fuels increase output and reduce fuel consumption , lower grade fuels do the reverse "
LRP or unleaded should both be ok .
What about throwing moth balls in your tank ?:bs: Ok , that one could lead to a lot of comment ...

I have been meaning to ask this for a long time, so here goes:

Which fuel should i use in my 325i e36 1995?

I have been reading the american forums and they all talk about only using premium fuel with the highest octane?

Here in RSA we only get 95 octane right? And should i use leaded or unleaded fuel? or doesn't it make a difference?

By voorbaat dankie.....

Check this site out: http://www.naamsa.co.za/unleaded/databases/index.php

Lead was used to prevent valve seat recession from what I can see your car will be fine on the unleaded. I'm using unleaded on my 1994 325i.
