Ok so after the branches were installed, did the unichip yesterday but no of course that wont be the end of the expense coz this car wishes to bleed me dry!!! :banghead:
So after the branches were installed, it triggered the engine light so 1st thought on everyone's mind was due to CAT being removed and with unichip this can be clamped so it doesn't ever trigger. The guy at Fastcar Performance didn't want to clamp it because he insisted it was an intricate part of the car's system etc etc, anyway he put the minicat in, didnt charge much so i didn't mind as i thought finally the light will go off and it did for a while...but after being on the dyno for a bit...
The fcking engine light is still on!!!!!! Why?!?
When we read the codes, it says 'O2 sensor number 2: Cat converter heating'
So we put the car on the hoist and see that Powerflow (They did the viper branches) put that specific sensor back in the original place (before the main cat converter, now replaced with a SS box) and coz of the new branches it caused the sensor cable to touch the gearbox and burnt throught the insulation and stuff! Fckers! Common sense would say reposition the damn thing!
So what I want to know, the strain on the car because of the dyno and heat and what not could have caused it right? I mean it was off for a while then came back after being on the dyno. Now no matter how many times it is cleared, it still comes on. Please tell me I'm correct in saying that repositioning that sensor and clearing the code will fix it. Powerflow said to come in and they will reposition the sensor so it doesn't touch. Is this pointless because as far as the guys who did the chip are concerned the 'heating' element of the sensor is buggered and thus the whole sensor must be replaced. Stealers want R3032.10 after 10 % discount. That is too fcking much after the branches and chip raped my pocket already. What do i do? I'm scared damage was done after that time on the dyno. :dunno::dunno::dunno::bawling::bawling::bawling:
With this engine light on it is overfuelling...not cool!
Oh E46 318i btw.
