Ladies and gents.

I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to each and everyone that assisted with our Kennel Run yesterday. Whether you donated cash, food or attended and showed the dogs some love and attention, it made an impact on the life of our furry friends.

As with many of our events, it is difficult to predict the success of the event and it is our luck who is available on the day and willing to join. It brought smiles to our faces when we had a convoy of 25 cars with approx. 50 Fanatics enroute to Project Dog and SCARR in Shongweni bright and early on Sunday morning.

Everyone mingled at the meeting point getting to know the new faces and embraced our event under the guise of 'The Fanatics' as opposed to BMW Fanatics with the introduction of a few VAG members. It made for an interesting drive to the destination but we'll leave that for another discussion.

We departed the Engen garage at 8:40 and drove in 'head-turning' convoy inland to the Kennels. Upon arrival and unloading the abundance of food collected by our members and generous sponsors, our hosts, Kim from Project Dog and Michelle from SCARR, were astounded at the magnitude of food and treats that lay before them. We managed to collect and over 1 ton of food for our four legged friends! Yes you read right, a whopping ton of food!

We got to know our rescued friends and their stories, making us a whole lot more appreciative for the work of Project Dog and SCARR.
After a morning of posing for photos on the stack of food, we explored the kennels, some members (youth league) decided to live the life of a dog for a bit and spent some time in the cage themselves

We even came across an intelligent border collie full of energy constantly eager to play fetch with his new found friends.

All the morning activity caused us to work up an appetite and so the group said their goodbyes to the team at the Kennels and proceeded to Spur in Hillcrest for a bit of brekkie and kakpraat. As with every event, we are more of a family than a club which makes our get togethers that much more epic.

Again i can't thank each and every one of you enough for your contribution to yesterday's event. The impact we made was truly special. A significant difference was made to the lives of those without a voice whom deserve every bit of love and respect as that of a human being.

Thank You Thank You Thank You :ty::ty::ty:

Thanks for the summary Yulz... Was definitely a morning of highs and lows when hearing about the plight of the rescues in the shelter.. Very little can be compared to the past of one of the dogs there named Ace who was despite his 75kg size used as a bait dog in dog fighting syndicates...
Also tribute must be given to the kind hearted souls who run the shelters and bear the emotion of seeing the animals hurt. We had an emotional chat with Brett who told us the cruel actions some humans do to these poor animals.

Again thank you to everyone who contributed.. We will appeal to your kind hearted side again in the future and pray that you'll may be able to assist us.

Well said Yulz.

From my side.... A big thank you to all for your contributions. Even Gp guys pitched in to help and also match Kishs epic challenge.

I was pleased to see other brands in our convoy. This event brought out a lot of newbie members and girls. (We like girls)

This events success is a true measure of the hard work and dedication that goes on behind the scenes. Thanks goes out to the forums admin, social and events staff. Keep up the good work guys. On two the next one.
