I bought this kit in November 2013 and have had an absolute blast with it.

KW DDC coilover kit:

According to KW: "The KW DDC (Dynamic Damping Control) coilover kit with ECU (Electronic Control Unit) was developed for individual lowering and installation of an electronic damping control system. The scope of delivery contains a KW inox-line coilover kit with electronically controlled dampers, a high-performance control unit, the car specific cable set with control switch and a detailed manual for an easy installation. The KW DDC coilover kit has three car specific developed damper settings. By the push of a button the driver can choose between the sport basic setup, a very sporty and performance-oriented Sport+ setup and the comfort mode for uneven/ poor road surfaces. The height adjustment of KW coilover kits also allow an individual lowering within the TÜV-tested adjustment range."

The App allows you to program in easy steps five personal damper setups and you also can share them with your friends via e-mail. OVERALL IMPRESSIONS:

Well for such an expensive kit it had to perform much better than my previous Bilstein Ride control suspension kit.

For the first time, I am absolutely happy with an aftermarket suspension. The components are top quality and fit perfectly and the drive is awesome. The control options and the adjustability makes this a very advance kit and is great for everyday use but even more so for those that track their cars often but I personally feel the many options and features for daily use - is overkill. Once the settings of you choice has been dialed in then you can archive the app because its no longer required. And the chance of finding a friend with a similar kit that you can exchange settings with is a pipe dream. But for those that don't want to fiddle too much the kit works out of the box brilliantly.

The iphone app and the KW suspension works very well together. Changing settings on the app with a push of a button is instantly conveyed to the suspension. However, you cannot change the individual suspension settings on your own. It only works while the car is in motion above 30km/ph. Someone has to tweak the settings while you drive the car until you find the desired setup.

In comfort mode the setup is truly comfortable, in fact better than stock for a 3 series e90 that generally has a tight standard setup. For everyday driving this setting works very well.

Sport mode is indeed sporty but neither here nor there but can be dialed to your preference. I normally skip this setting.

Sport + is where its at. In this mode one can really be a little "reckless" in putting the kit to the test. Its a hardcore, flat mode for track use. But you can dial it a little neutral depending on the circuit.

A professional installation of the suspension kit is required but it is not overly complicated.

Overall the KW suspension is a great package and together with the M3 suspension bits such as arms and links it becomes a formidable and enjoyable suspension setup.

Awesome.

In your opinion, would you generally rate KW above Ohlins in terms of quality/engineering and support?

I wonder what Alexander Graham Bell would have said in 1876, if we told him that one day his invention would be able to tweak the dynamic handling of a car:rollsmile:

He probably would have gone..

Fordkoppie...thats a good question. Ohlins is also a reputable brand. They all have a competitive edge in the market. Sometimes we pay just for the brand but a "lesser" brand could offer similar quality.
