Key not working

Hi guys,

My car key seems not to be operational, (Cant unlock doors) i suspect it is the battery, does any of you know where i can get the battery or get the key checked out...? Or should i take to the car to the stealers (BMW)...?

As far as i know the key is charged when the car is driven, not sure how true that is.

Do you have the spare key that you can use to check if it is the battery?

I do have a spare key, have not tried it yet, i suppose there is some thruth to that considering that i have not been using the car regularly...!

just jump start it and take it for long drive. then take it to a battery centre.

I called BMW, they say i should replace the battery, it is only R78,00

Hope so too, i am off to Leo Haese Centurion BMW, we will see what happens after replacement!

It was a key battery guys, got a new battery from bmw, problem solved....!

I think that was a cheap quick fix.

I was searching other forums yersterday :fencelook: to check how much the battery cost in other countries, it is just $3 :tease:
