So Nikz replaced the fuel level sender in the Tank but the fuel gauge still does not work.

So i will have to buy the level sensor on the fuel pump.

Do i buy the complete pump or can i get the Housing separate with the sensor?

He replace the LHS one, the RHS one is the one that goes to the cluster gauge.

The fuel pump/sender unit is one piece unfortunately.

Sometimes its just a case of the wire inside has broken off and just needs to be soldered back on.

I checked the impedance on the LHS unit and it was reading 2 Ohms when moving the float from full to empty so that side was also shot:hammerhead:. I had a look at the RHS unit and wiring and all the wires and solder joints are intact. :coolShake:

But did you measure impedance on the RHS sensor?

So its been a while since the last update, the car had a faulty fuel gauge and a slight misfire at low rpm so Karsh bit the bullet and got a new pump which I installed a week or so ago

couldn't upload the rest of the pics as the uploader says image file missing :smashScreen:

So the new fuel pump made a massive difference to performance and the car no longer has a misfire, it is also happier to rev

Next on the list is a 3.15 diff from a 325i as the stock diff is a tad bit too long replacement of the exhaust from hell, hopefully a set of headers and M50 intake :=):

Im sure Karsh has some updates aswell

oh and if you plan on replacing the fuel pump please don't fill up the tank or you will get high as f#$%^ on the fumes

The fogs really need to be changed.

I am thinking of getting smoked diamond but i think i will settle for an OEM set

Water leaked in on the left side and rusted. :thumbdo:
