K&N airfilter 320d

Just thought i'd share my experience on installing and testing my K&N airfilter on my E90 320d.

Installing it was a bit of a mission took us like 2 hours, but we had to go to this workshop where my friends friend worked, to remove the one bolt, i think its a torx bolt?

Anyway the owner came out and tuned as "And wheres the R150 for the half an hour labour for taking my technician" we thought he was joking so my buddy told him to come by the restaurant he works and he'll buy him a couple of beers. Then the guy says "no i dont drink" so my buddy says "then have a cappuccino". Then I start reaching into my pocket to give this guy some money just to throw it at him and I told him I'll give him the money because it looks like he needs it. And he muttered something and walked back inside. :nonono:

Even though the guy was helping us for less than 10 minutes. The guy wanted R150 for him to loosen one bolt for us, no wonder it looked like he had no business. I would never take my car there, that's not how you run a business and treat potential customers.

Sorry *end rant* . Anyway filter installed, i do notice a bit more pull on the upper end of the revs, it seems to pull more before it gears where as it felt a bit sluggish when it started to max revs on the previous filter. It also sounds a bit nicer.

K&N filter will make no difference in power on your car, since the power is in priciple controlled by the ECU (which controls the turbo and subsequently the mass of air entering the engine, which governs the amount of diesel you can safely combust). I doubt that a K&N filter would make a difference even if you have the car mapped with one.
