You can jus request the slim fit bag wen you buy the space saver tyre from most bmw agents, i got the 17' spare, cause i hav 18' rims. I think it has the bmw logo on it, i can take a pic for u if u want, but u hav to vote for me in the cape town calendar submission page

Please take a pic mate

How much does it go for and how secure is it in your boot? It doesnt slide around?

Welcome to the forum!! And awesome car!!

Just noticed something in your attached pic, those aren't BMW OEM wheels - they look like M6 reps which I doubt would be compatible or up to the spec for RFT's. So investigate this first. I gather the car is out of motorplan looking at the mileage, so you have the option to use non-RFT's without having to worry about motorplan having issues. But important to let your insurance know about this since RFT's are considered a safety feature for these cars.

I have a motoquip electric pump, although I am running RFT's. The space-saver is always a good plan and should be able to be anchored in place in the boot - of course lose some boot space.

If I was in your shoes I would do one of the following:

Search gumtree for used good condition E90 wheels. For RFT's the ideal size is 17" from cost and comfort point of view. And then avoid narrow/wides if you can help it. Best and most affordable RFT's are the Hankook S1 Evo 225/45R17!!

Other option is to go for non-RFT's and then I would say go 18" narrow/wides with the space-saver in the boot.

I didn't know hankook sold runflats

I always overspent on Bridgestones

Do you know how much they go for?

They do, but only in certain sizes. Price is roughly the same as their non-RFT Ventus V12, so very attractive price!! Here's my thread when I had them fitted to the from, here.

Unfortunately not BMW Approved tyres, even though they are RFT's, so had to replace them with Continental RFT's again... :nonono:

The spare and bag costs about R3000, the bag material feels slightly coarse, so it impedes movement in the boot, but if you doing 180km/h and pull up your handbrake on a corner, i think you mite expect sum movement :joy: its kinda raining today so i cant take a pic, but will do it soon, oh i briefly opened my boot yesterday and didnt see a bmw logo on it :nonono:, who was that guy that said it had one, its ppl like that, that causes ppl to buy stuff unnecessarily :roflol:

Thanks Sandman. I am working on getting some qoutes for that spare wheel kit.
I read this weekend that the spare wheel for the E60 fits the E90 and is cheaper. Think was a thread on Bimmerfest, does anyone else know anything on that?

Also, will doing the software on my car void the SA-warranties' cover I got?

And what can I expect with doing the software, will I have to go for a piggy back? Gains? Cost?

centurion asks R2960 for the spare while Rustenburg asks R4200! Big difference :thumbdo:

I dont go to Centurion that often anymore :bangdesk:
