JHB to St Lucia

Has anyone recently driven Jhb to St Lucia?

Could you please update me on the road conditions and suggested routes?

the hiway from Jhb to Durban is great , the N2 from durban to st lucia is also great , not sure about the roads in st lucia , but 99% of your journey is on the hiway so you dont need a 6x6 or 4x4, I have a cousin that goes often for work in his Audi S4.

I'm looking at driving the Ermelo,Piet Retie and Pongola route.....

need feed back if anyone traveled that route before.

I've done that route numerous times and it was all good.
It's national roads all the way so you won't have any problems..
The only place you may have potholes is between mtubatuba and St Lucia.
Also note, lots of animals and pedestrians between Piet retief and pongola.
Drive safely.

Went to Verulam last weekend. Roads are shup, just roadworks here and there so only 1 lane operational but only for like a kilometer at a time.

Roads are good along the Piet Retief-Pongola-Matubatuba route. Haven't driven Ermelo to Piet Retief.
