Happens every year in Midrand at the Waterfall Estate. I'm not a Polo fan.

That is correct. The polo is fun to watch, but it is really more about a family day out. Kids under 12 get in for free I believe.

Sounds lekker......

The BMW International Polo Series is played in August every year against a touring international team. "BMW's collaboration with the South African Polo Association is one of the longest-running sports sponsorships in South Africa with this year marking 24 years of BMW's commitment to the sport. We're pleased to be in a position to showcase the great sport of polo to South Africans through a premium experience," says Bodo Donauer, Managing Director of BMW South Africa.

The South African Polo Association have confirmed that Chile have accepted the invitation to send their national side to participate in this year's tournament. The first test will take place at Shongweni in Hillcrest, Durban on Sunday, 18 August, and the final test will take place at Waterfall Park in Sunninghill, Johannesburg on Sunday, 25 August. Chile have toured South Africa on numerous occasions. They have participated in the BMW Series five times since 1978, the most recent being in 2010. South Africa have beaten the Chileans in each of these tests so there can be no doubt that the visitors will be hungry for victory.

Chile won the 2008 FIP World Polo Championships held in Mexico City and they continue to be a dominant force. Polo fans and spectators can be assured of another brilliant test series. Please click here for details regarding dates, times, ticket prices and directions.
