Hey BimmerMan ! :)

:( airbag sensor came back on as soon as I left, also the autolock thingy didn't work, not sure why, maybe the setting for it didn't take. I'll take out the airbag this weekend and check whats up with it... think it might have maybe pulled out cause I did install some cables for uhm, 'something'. in that area...

also, I think I need a new DSC unit, apparently they all go in the E39's after a few years because they mounted the dsc unit too close to the engine and it gets too warm, I tried opening mine but it seems like a sealed unit.. will MAYBE try to brute force the thing open so I can take a look at the circuit and try trace whats wrong with it, cause a new unit is like 16K. bleh.

at least I know I need new lambda sensors, Its so weird, 50% of the time the sensor works, and then it stops, I lose hectic power every now and then. do you know how much they go for maybe ?

Damn, sorry to hear that clutchplate. I think you have exactly the same problem as I do. Its not the airbag that is giving you the error, its the Seat Occupancy Sensor that is inside the passanger seat. Right ontop of where you sit, there is a thin mat that measures resistance and tells the computer whether someone is sitting in the seat or not. This was to save insurance costs because in the event of an accident, it would not fire the airbag if no one was in that seat. The only way to fix this is to either replace the sensor with a new one or trick the computer in to thinking someone is always sitting on the seat...

Sorry about the autolock thing. Not sure what happened. I am sure I wrote the data to the DME, but maybe I forgot. We will give it a try at the next meet and make sure it works :)

The DSC unit seems to be a problem on 99 cars and up...funnily enough not so much for the 99 down cars for some reason. Try giving TuneTech a call as I believe they can rebuild the DSC module for you. If they cannot help, you will have to find one of a scrapped car and have it coded either at the dealer or by someone who has a GT1 computer...

Power losses and rough running are most commonly an air leak or a shot oxygen sensor. You should feel the 740I in the morning...runs like a 20 year old Golf. One moment the car has power, the next if feels like a 728I :(
