I have an idea of an event, maybe like a street braai and social?


I have access to an establishment which has reasonable access from two major highways, ample parking, liquor license, accommodating business owner and also good comms with the Supaquick owner in the same complex.

Can I tempt the powers that be here? :rollsmile:

May be a different spin on things which is devoid from the race tracks and such like though?

I have organised an event like this before where the attendee's stood around braaing their own meat together whilst talking nonsense and such like.

Was a massive success in terms of creating friendships and bringing people together.

Oh, and don't worry about the local law enforcement, we have a good relationship with them as well so theres no need to be concerned about them arriving and looking at cars and such like.

If you guys are keen on doing something like this, let me know?

Not too sure if the recent cabinet shuffle has affected your understanding of things....But we normally seek permission from the venue BEFORE we go ahead and put up the details.

As I stated before...I have emailed a few venues with proposals. Received a reply today from one that seems Keen, just waiting for confirmation then we put up the details.

It occurred to me this morning while mountain biking at Rietvlei Farm that it would be a great venue for picnic/braai/family social. Lots of braais and lapas available with big lawns, plenty entertainment for the little ones, horse riding, mountain biking, zip lining, restaurants on sight for those not willing to picnic or braai. Car wash and nursery on sight too. Lots of big trees for ample shade and a great place to take some awesome photography.

Let me hear your thoughts.

Reitvlei is a really good venue. We often thought about hosting an event thetr. However, from past experiences we learned quickly that members didn't want to pay entrance fees for various reasons ranging from tough ecomony to personal reasons.

Would still be a good venue. Chef and Rob will be doing a site visit this weekend. So hopefully by Monday we will done. First event will be just chilled and free for all so we can get EVERYONE together.
