Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd do a quick write up on my first experience with the JB4.
I ordered my JB4 tune and a set of black Kidneys for my N54 E92 from Rennzport about 3 weeks back. Super fast and super smooth service from Zaahier. Thanks Mate. Items arrived in the post as promised and in good order.
Installing the kidneys were a piece of cake and had them done in 5 mins tops. The JB4 looked very intimidating and I was just to scared to try and install it myself. :fencelook:
Got hold of Rennzport and again, no problems, promt response with the name and contact details of a fanatic that could asisst!!! (BIG THANKS TO OUTLAW335) :ty::ty:
So I meet up with Shiraaz (Outlaw335) last Thursday and he helps me with the install. I must say guys, once you do it, or for that matter see the JB4 being installed its so simple. We have the whole thing done in 45 mins, including a whole lot of chatting and stuff. (By the way, Shiraaz your 335 looks the business just from the photos I've seen, would love to see her in the metal.)
She fires up no problems, set her to Map 5 and we hook the laptop up and go for a run. Shiraaz says she feels strong already, we check via my "new" boost gauge (Very Cool JB4 feature BTW) and yes all seems good. I thank Shiraaz and say my goodbyes.
Had a busy Thursday and never got a chance to really get some good runs. Had friends over Thursday evening, when for a quick run but the oil temp was too cold so she was still running stock. Needless to say, they were very impressed by the performance but I knew that the JB wasn't even working.:nonono:
Drove her around running errands and taking the family shopping all of Friday and Saturday but she was noticeably more eager and felt very lively. I couldn't wait to get the wife and kids out of the car so I could find a private stretch of tarmac to really see what the JB4 fuss is all about.
Finally, Sunday morning, clear bit of road ahead, oil temp is up and i flatten the pedal while doing about 80km/h......:joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy: traction control warning lights flash and when i look again I'm touching 180. The boost come hard and smooth all the way. Its AWESOME!! I tap off, take the next off ramp and find a lonely back road and do some standing and rolling runs. I must say, first gear on a kak road is totally pointless. There is just so much more power to put down that the traction control cuts in kills it.
She's a completely different car now. The boost is much much stronger, and she runs much smoother all the way to the line. In gear acceleration is amazing. I'm not much of a robot racer but I rather enjoy the long distance grand tours. On the highway she goes hard to +-230km/h. That's as fast as i could safely take her until some traffic started to come up, but the pace at which she reached 230 was mind blowing.
Once again, a BIG :ty::ty::ty: to Rennzport and Outlaw335.
