having owned a N55 as well as a N54 and having used all JB products i thought i give an in depth review of there products.

JB4 N55 -Stage 2

Car felt different from day 1. Throttle response was sharper, little to none Turbo lag. However after installing the JB i truly felt the car had more potential. Subsequent to the JB, i installed the DP. The emense torque that i got was something truly incredible. The sound was gret and the peddle was so light. Just a touch of the peddle and you were already past the speed limit. The most important thing about my JB at the time was

  • User friendly interface
  • Ability to explore different maps on the fly
  • i trully liked been able to play around with the settings, i felt like a tuner in my own way

Most of all was my ability to log and see exactly how my car was performing and how it reacted to the different settings. I felt as if i was one with the car.

Once i got more confidance in the product i started exploring different mods. Next on the list was Meth. Boy oh Boy, does that thing pack a punch.

I used the BMS WW kit. Simple install and versitility allowed me to remove it so easily without a trace. Great product with exceptional gains in the power curve.
With that mod came the charge pipe as well.

A point to take note is that all the products are so easy to install. No experiance requireed. Once your confidance increases you will try and attempt more difficult assignments. But truth be told you do have one of the best support systems in the country i.e Renzzport.

That was my journey on the N55 platform. Very short period. I wish i had a little more time with her but than...............

I indulged in the world of the N54

First jb4. initially i had high expectations with the N55 experiance but than N54 just takes it to the next level. If boundries are been pushed than surely the JB4 ISO N54 has pusehed it far beyond its years. Back this baby up with a backend flash and you have a powerhouse. Its like having the stamina of Bruce lee, the will power of Rocky & the punch of mohammed alli.

Light poles no longer become a denomination to value the distance you leave your competitor.

Truly ISO is the future in tuning technology.

I than installed a chargepipe with meth to bring everything together. From there onwards i never looked back at any of the products.

A must have for any X35i esp N54 is the oil catch can. What a simple and yet inexpensive mod that will result in you getting more millage out of your engine and keeping it healthy.

There are many add on products to the range that just intensifys your drive.

The latest to my list will be a 2Step/NLS system. Imagine having a manual box but have the ability to change like a DCT. ALWAYS IN BOOST. LAUNCH CONTROL on a manual. Dammit that just brings a huge smile to my face.

If there is one complaint i can think of, which is very difficult, i would honestly like to have stayed in the states so when new stuff/firmware comes out i can be a tester from the word go. Yes a lab rat.

Depending on your mods your power can range from a mere 80hp to a whoping 160hp.

It has been documented that FBO can rech a stagering 600hp on stock turbos. thats nos and the whole thing.

Day one - Nervous
Day two - nice
Onwards - I need more of this

From my humble 135 to my modest 1M i can truly say that as a JB user my driving experiance just got a whole lot better. This is the way my car should have come from the factory.

I got a spare JB4 should you want to test it on your N54, than you tell me if any sentance in this thread is misleading.

If there are any other JB users on the forum who would like to share there experiances using any of the products please feel free to but in/Jack the thread. Just let it out guys.

Nice review but I highly suggest fixing the grammar and spelling to make it sound professional the way it should be, just my two cents worh. Pls dont come hunting me down now. I can see you love/happy with the product. Dont let silly wording mistakes take away the fame from what you trying to say.

Grammar was never a strong point for me. No time to do those things. need to take a class on english. I was more a number guy.

Its difficult to judge from the 135i to the 1M and how the gains are related. There are speculations of differences to the enhine unbeknownst to us all, but in any case, this is brilliant for all!

jb4 is the best for me. added to what bybym3 has stated, i need not rely on anyone else when adding and removing my tune. its quick and easy and offers me the power the car is missing from the factory. there is no flashing of ecu's just plug and play. its extremely easy to use and best of all you have Renzzport who support the product locally along with BMS in the US. I have emailed Terry at BMS a number of times and i always receive a reply the same day. Twinz is in a class of his own. no hidden agendas, no bragging about this or that. no handbag stuff. Twinz just gets on with the job and is an all round helpful, good guy who sets an example that others should follow.

the jb4 tune has proven itself over and over again. there is no need to defend it or argue which tune is better. the jb4 speaks for itself.

agreed totally with BYBY,for me the choice to go jb4 was a no brainer,i say this becuase the x35 i have is the N55 platform.now for those of us that would like to extract the cars true potential as far as tuning is concerned,if you own an n55,the jb4 is the tune for you.Any other FLASH or SW that isnt a piggy back is a waste of time IMO.This process involves removing your ecu,sending it somewhere to get bench flashed than getting it returned to you,this will most definitely get you caught out for those of you worried about motorplan,dont get me wrong,any form of modification that changes the behavior of the car will be a risk no doubt,but as far as risks go your safest bet would be to go piggy back.The jb4 for N55 just like that of the n54 is a simple to install plug and play unit.One of the greatest assets you have as a jb user is the local support in the form of rennzport and Twinz.Iv posted many a time on my love for jb4 in terms of how satisfied i am with it as a whole.This will be no different,i recommend jb4 to anybody with an x35 esp those with the N55 platform,its success is evident in the people who use it.JB4 Can be purchased from rennzport,xcede auto and project shift,iv had personal experience with rennzport as far as jb goes and i have never to this day been disapointed.Please due to the nature of threads goin downhill over keyboard egos,i will state for the record that this is my opinion and my review.Thanx


added to what josh has said,another cool thing about the jb4 is the user friendly interface,nomore having to go in to a shop that flashed software on the ecu to fix bugs,simply plug in a laptop,take a drive,log the car and it will tell you everything you need to know,what a great product.

Awsome review hav to agree the jb4 is an amazing product for tuning your n55 or n54,it is def the most advance with all the maps and features that come loaded on the menu.

I don have jb but from what I have experience with docs car with jb compared to my n55 with ppk, the jb car has much more quicker throttle response, less turbo lag and much better mid range.
Iv realized that jb is not at all aggressive to the car,brings out the full potential the car has.no over boosting or too agresiv just optimum performance

Awesome awesome write up byby! Can't disagree with anything you said,it's one amazing product.When I got mine I started off with the jb,intake and downpipe and said to myself that's enough.From there it just went on and on and on :rollsmile:

Support from Rennzport has been fantastic from the beginning and I can't imagine using the word jb without using Rennzport in the same breath.I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels this way.

But the best part about the jb is that it's always evolving (for free :bravo: ),always setting the bar and I'm sure theres still alot more to come.

I'll be selling my car soon and with certainty I can say that I'll miss the jb more then the 335 itself...

My car has been a bit sick and still with the jb it felt strong. It will be sorted soon and then hopefully the jb will deliver even more.

Thank you to twinz for assisting me with troubleshooting and always being available either on email or by way of a phone call.
