now which box is better?

5 speed or 6 speed?

Depends on your diff, what you want out of it.

Ask Gizmo, he is the resident gearing dude, I'll go with the 6, more flexibility and you can always change the diff to an LSD or change the ratio later.

No, that's the 6, but it depends more on which diff you fit.

So 3.38 with 6speed, nice! Going to make a world of difference to the 330i performance.
The 2004 330i 6spd has a 3.07, stock 5spd manual 330i is 2.93.

I cant wait to get mine finished either, but dont get much time during the week, although I did make some progress last night.

As Gizmo indicated, your car is going to be a really differant lady once she's done, and we buy Bimmers to enjoy them, and I am convinced that you will.. no more worry about the box dying for no aparent reason.

What are you going to do with your old box, I may want it to strip it out and see how it works ?
