Is this acceptable?

Hi so I bought my car 6 months ago. And within the first month the window trim on the window sill of the front passenger door had come off after my car was parked outside in heavy rain and it turned out they had super glued it down. And from what I've read once these have been taken off they need to be replaced. So with my being overseas for a period and their manager being on leave or some kak like that. I managed to get my car back to them about a month ago for them to rectify a few issues.

I got the car back and everything looked good. 3 days go by and I sent my car in for a service. After the wash the trim had come off again after they had tried to superglue it down for the second time. Which pisses me off as I don't want my car held together by superglue. But anyway. I have E-Mailed the sales guy who got back to me saying he will speak to his manager. This was about 2 weeks ago. I have since E-Mailed him asking him if i can go under the assumption that they are not going to assume responsibly for it. And that was a week ago. With no response.

Is it worth my time trying to get them to fix this? Or should i bite the bullet sort it out my self. And make one hell of a scene in naming and shaming of them on hellopeter etc.

As far as I'm concerned they cant stick their toyota tazzes together with superglue but not a bmw.

Unacceptable, but common practice I guess. Once the car is sold, is not their problem, sad but true:cry:

I would name and shame and see if you get a response, if everything is fixed then you can always post a positive feedback again:idea:

who did you buy from? ..if its from a bmw dealership, just phone in, ask for the dealer principle, don't take excuses and demand to speak to him and then tell him the story.

It's from McCarthy Toyota in Parrow "certified used cars" lol . Would they also have a dealer principle? It seems the guy that makes the decisions is the sales manager.

What irritates me most is the lack of response on their behalf.

Just sort it out yourself at least you will know its done properly

Yes but if I let my car go back to them, I'd make sure its done properly otherwise I wont let them do it.

I will think about it over the weekend. Maybe I'll get it fixed myself. Write a letter to whomever is in the highest position. And see if they will reimburse me for the costs.

Thanks for the advice.

I tried to get my rear window trim replaced and they said no, even under motorplan at BMW.

Hellopeter and fixing it yourself is a good plan.

The part is also expensive so I did the repair myself.

Yeah but warranty is different to motor plan.

That's probably what I'll end up doing.
