I think the difference here is in the engine "sub" code
B30MO - 2009 225kw
B30 - 2010 235kw
B30O0 - 2011 240kw

N55 was produced in 2010, I think from Feb onwards.

I have a Jan 2010 135i, which is N54 with the updated N55 mirrors.

Regarding the Mirrors, the very late N54 models (such as mine) came out with the updated mirriors, I do believe that there is some significance to this.

With regards to power, N54/N55, power output is 225kw.

The 235kw refers to the F series only. Your table which indicates a 2010 with 235kw, could most probably be for the Euro spec cars. SA cars are slightly de-tuned due to the quality of our fuel.

So if its N55 then it is 225kW. The 2012 F20 M135i came with 235kW. The list below shows the E82 N55 as 225kW up until 2013.

N54 was continued through to mid 2010 and from August production 2010 switched to N55 with power remaining at 225kw throughout the production of the coupe's :=):

Hi bud open your bonnet. If the engine cover says twin power turbo then it's N55. If not then it's the N54. Not sure about the power outputs though (Should be 225kw), I think it was the F series 1ers coming with updated power.

And yet the N55 is a single turbo with twin scroll and the N54 has twin turbos.

Hi guys
I just bought a 135I coupe (from Fouche). Its a 2010 model but according to BMW and the VIN its a N55. Didnt the N55 only start with the 2011 models?
Would mine then be a 225kw or 235kw? Could someone please clarify?

Open the bonnet and post a pic - 2010's were some N54 and some N55 - its easy to see the diff.
