Posting some older stuff that was done to the 540i.
This was done at the begining of 2008.

Yet another interior swap. I hate blue interiors.

Got another black interior from our local scrapyard. We beat our old record of stripping a car, got it down to an hour and a half, carpet, dashboard , everything!

Enlisted the help of my father and brother.

Currently have two dashboards to choose from :)

Freshly cleaned carpet

More seats etc. The frames for these seats are trashed, very bent.

At least the leather is good.

Rear Console: 2 bolts hold this on at the bottom.

Front Console: 2 Screws hold the rear and front consoles together. One is hidden in the storage compartment and the other is below the handbrake boot. If you look closely at the hole, just infront of the seatbelt clip, you'll notice a bit of black plastic. This is put over a threaded stud and is held down by a plastic nut.

If you look at the rear of the front console you will see the 2 locations where the screws hold the rear console on.

Here you'll see where the 4 screws for the radio, climate control and OBC surround are located.

Dashboard removed.

Carpet removed.

I can't understand how some people can jack the car incorrectly. The previous owner put a huge dent in the passenger footwell. Here you can see that we fixed that and the bent seat hook.

Thanks!

No performance mods have been done yet. More maintenance stuff these days.
If i could ever afford it, a supercharger would make its way into the engine bay.

For now though, i want to get the body and interior in the best possible condition.

My car has a huge bend on the passenger side as well... I mean HUGE. I honestly don't know how they did it.

Your car looks great. I'm also considering getting rid of my cloth interior and fitting some nice leathers. ;)

That a good price! One more Q: Did you have to remove a window to get the roofliner out or did you manage to get it out the door? Did it bend through the door? Eg, if I want to dye my roofliner, would I damage it by taking it out an reinstalling it through the door?

Didn't have to remove any windows! :)

Put the back side of the passenger seat flat against the rear seat. There is enough room to remove the headliner through the passenger rear door without bending it.
Not sure what your headliner is made of though, mine was fibreglass reinforced, whilst the older 520i's was cardboard.

You would really have to bend it a lot to break it :)
