i am interested in buying a 2009 320i.
its got 80000kms on the clock
xenons, 18inch wheels with brand new michelin pilot sport runflats.
the new cic idrive system with sat nav and bluetooth as well as electric seats.

Asking price is R190000

i am trading in my b7 audi a4 2.0t for this so i know about the power difference.

any thoughts.
is this a good buy.

i like the bmw as it has some good extras.

howdy,
sounds well spec'd but my concern for you would be the difference in performance. Ur 2.0T is way more zippy and my fear would be getting frustrated with the 320i as it is no where near as fleet on its feet so to speak. If its not concerning you now, it may well down the road. If you recon not then ok. I would rather try and find a similar priced/spec'd 325i or for perhaps a little more a 330i/d. If you can, it would be a good idea to try and drive the 320i in a range of conditions for a day or two (not always possible) just to get a better understanding of the character of the car. They are great, but it would start to irritate me with its "lethargic" nature. Just my 2c's worth.

Seems like a decent buy, considering what it cost new in 2009. BTW, this is the facelift model, correct?

For the extras and the 20 000km left on MPlan, seems fair. Hope you get to drive it properly before you make the decision! Beautiful car, though and price seems fair. :=):

the bmw is very neat and well spec'd .
i have driven it and it is abit underpowered comparing it to my audi.

if i had to look at one the 6 cylinder models for that price or even 200k i wont be getting that model year with those extras.

this is the lci version.
check out the pic of it

Not picking, as I said they are gr8, just if you have come from something with some zip they can be a little frustrating
It is well spec'd and a fair price, looks good to! just an opinion - with some ideas
If the lad is aware and happy with the power characteristics of the car then I say go for it :=):

The 320i is really well spec'd and yes, I agree with the other guys with regards to performance.

Try find a 323 or 325. Go down a year to 08 if u have to. You can still extend for another 2 yrs of motorplan giving you freedom until 2015. Way up the price of extending the motorplan too. Costs about R1.20 or so a kilometer to extend.

Way all that up with how long u want to keep the car for etc... Then make a choice.

I haven't seen many E90s with those rims - some late models E46s had them just before the E90 was released - very nice look - the car looks great.

Personally, I have never driven a 4 cylinder E90. I am used to the 6 pot motors of the 5 series, but the guys here have plenty of experience with these cars.

But, the reality is that if it feels good - never fight a good feeling!

And, when making an investment such as this - a good guide may be:

Would you have the urge to replace it if you experienced the 325i?

Maybe, get hold of a 325i and drive it - compare, performance, price, extras etc.

Not an easy decision to make but I would take the time to compare - there are plenty of E90s for sale. Just my thoughts. :=):

Thats it!

dont even bother with the 323i and 325i, go for the 320d first, that will be a good choice to think of in this current economic climate.

the 6 cylinders are going cheap now cause not many people are buying them, you will pick them up cheaper and get alot more well specced but the 320d will save you tons in the long run, you can even find a few 330d in exclusive guise as well:thumbs:
