Injector replacement

Hi guys I have been struggling with misfires on my N54 for a while now. I have replaced the coils and the spark plugs and I have carbon cleaned the engine.

This has made the car run smoother and its making good power but it still has a rough idle especially on a cold start. I think my worst fears might have been realised and I have to replace injectors in the near future.

My question is if it can cause any damage by driving the car like this in the meantime, if not replacing injectors what else can be done to solve this problem and also what injectors is best for this engine?

If I am going to replace them anyway I might as well upgrade to bigger injectors since I am building up the car.

I had the same issue. Just replaced mine yesterday and car is now running smooth :smilebounce:

Replaced with series 12's. Cold start rough idling and misfires gone.

Before shooting money off on injectors, check the 02 Sensors bud.
Those buggers can also cause issues.

you can unplug injectors to find out if it is in fact an injector issue.

From what I have read and seen on youtube etc a faulty injector is pretty audible, it will make a louder than normal ticking sound. but this is just one symptom and i don't think it would be the case of a leaking injector.

I would start unplugging one at a time to diagnose. There is a youtube vid on how to do it if I'm not mistaken.

Now today the check engine light has come on out of nowhere while cruising on the highway and I had no boost. I switched it off and on again and the light was gone. This is the 2nd time it has done this. Any idea if it is also injector related? Or am I looking at the wrong place.

Start with a simple diagnostic read on the car... Then start eliminating your problems from there...
