Question relating to M Coupe semi automatic transmission.

Does the M Coupe not use DCT which is essentially a semi automatic transmission?

More about the M DCT Drivelogic in the
BMW M3 Coupé.

M DCT Drivelogic uses two transmission structures. Second, fourth and sixth gears are assigned to one structure, and first, third, fifth and seventh to the other. When you switch up or down, the system simply switches between the two. So while one gear is being disengaged, the next is already in position. By overlapping the clutch and declutch, the transmission of power remains uninterrupted. Six manual and five automatic programs allow you to access the whole spectrum of gear behaviour, from dynamic and pure to harmonious and comfortable.

Hey Skwinty

Thanks for the useful info.

The (Z3)M coupe has a standard manual gearbox. Five forward and reverse.
Its probably what Clownshoe said "SALESMEN"

Would have been lovely if it did have a semi-auto box.

affirm. Gearbox is out of the e36 M3. BMW couldn't fit the E46 M3 6 speed box into the transmittion tunnel... but a backyard mechanic can.

I like my manual thank you very much...
