If you had the choice, e39 M5 or e60 550 in manual?

I am also biased to the E39, but only because I love the "look"

but the E60 is much more "up-to-date" as far as technological advances go, and also looks "mean"

so it depends on your budget
it also depends on what you intend to use the car for...daily drive/long distance etc....ie reliabilty, consumption etc

Having owned an E39 M5, I can tell you that it's one of the most special cars you could ever own.
If you haven't experienced one, you'd be missing out on one of the world's greatest M cars.

I actually wish I had kept mine.

I would say E39 M5 because it is a more special car. I presume the M5 in question is a well looked after example.

I think an E60 550i in manual is quite cool, and probably an easier daily, but just not as special.

At 220,000 a very nice facelift M5 could be had.

As a daily though... tough one. A BMWCar magazine had a shoot-out article a while back. Hmm, I don't have teh magazine at work maybe someone else does.

Cannot remember the conclusion... too busy ogling the M5.

Personally i would go for a red one, with RGM exhaust and headers. :inlove:
