discussion Idrive service history

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well. I'm curious to know how one goes about updating the service history on the idrive system when one has completed service items on the vehicle like filter changes etc. Any advice?

You need a specific software ( e.g. latest ISTA) that can let you load it, I think some indies do have it, and BMW too.

If you did services yourself, your only option is resets on the instrument cluster and keeping of records (write into the physical book and keep receipts).

Can anyone perhaps assist me to update it electronically? My car doesn't have a physical book, I think that all stopped some time ago already. I still take the car to BMW for oil services, brake fluid services and similar but air filters and those I just do myself party cause it's so easy, I enjoy it, it's much cheaper and I don't wana wait as long as the service requirements before changing them. I don't wait for the service interval for oil changes either before I book it in at BMW. Any help will be appreciated, just wana make sure the service history is updated and accurate.

If you referring to the service history list as per the pic.
This can be updated by BMW. You can also update this manually with the help of software however if you take the car to BMW and they update the history it will remove your entries

If you have access to AOS (aos.bmwgroup.com) you can update the database with service info that gets written to the BMW database and won't get overwritten by the dealer again. Wonder if anyone here has that.
