Icom

Hi Gents
Not sure where to post this, if in wrong place can mods please move to appropriate section.
So I've done some work for a guy and he's been jerking me around re the money he owes me, R6500 give or take, now he's come to me and gave me this system proposing it should square his debt to me, my response was, I will first do my homework on it and only if it's fees able I'll accept.
Now for my dilemma, I don't have the ista software to test this unit and secondly what's the rand value of it, he gave me the main unit, obd2 cable that goes with it and a lan, is there someone in Cape Town that I can bring it to for testing, possibly today or tomorrow (or in the week) lastly is it complete for diagnosis purposes only with that 3 cables? Can't load pics through tapatalk from my cell phone.

A proper Icom - Well Chinese derivate, is worth about 10 to 15k at current rate of exchange.

However if it does not work, or is locked, is worth absolutely zero.

You can download ISTA vm's off the net, but syncing them so that it actually works is a different story.

Further, do you have the MOST plug.

I paid about 18k for mine all imported, but that was with a laptop fully configured, and a much different rate of exchange.

Is it an ICOM A or B, send picture.

If he can load a laptop for you, and it works, its worth it...

A brand new icom, with MOST adapter and all other bits is around $500 landed. So no, I don't think this is a fair deal.

He said he'll get me the most but I don't have much faith in his word, just want this thing tested to see if it actually works, as for the pics, I can't upload for some reason, when I click on the pics on my phone, instead of uploading it goes to editing mode.

Thanks for the input bud, reckon I can squeeze something more out him, he's got a few goods I have my eyes on but top of the list is the n42 timing tool kit, think I saw an n54 set aswell...he's always let me use the timing tools when needed (he sometimes let's his mates come round to him when they've worked on their cars, he doesn't really have the "know how" to use the tools and I'll go around to him and set his mates timing) but I don't know how he'll react after this...

When I saw the thread, this was my first thought. I should get out more often...

Yup, the Icom IC-7800 Ham Radio Transceiver. One of these for R6K would be a very sweet deal.

I had to do a web search to figure out that this is actually what the thread is about:
