I think the "interest" and the regular "BUMPING" of this thread, would have made it more prominent on a daily basis, leading up to yesterday.

Also from history, most Ice cream runs would start quiet a lot later, I think most folks had just got home/dinner/kids to bed etc, by the time this event started

You should have asked Herr BMW to tow you with his "Landie", then :
1) no worries about petrol, month end money
2) no worries about Etolli fees
3) no worries about traffic, everyone would have been overtaking you both

excuses excuses...a bit of lateral thinking needed
