I think someone bumped my car

Walking to the car this morning I noticed some impressions on my rear bumper. I have no idea what they are from nor do I see any stress marks or scratches on the paint work.

I do have a suspicion that someone bumped into me. Not sure if it is a trolley or car or what but the marks don’t seem to be those that could appear otherwise.

Note: top right corner is reflection of my arm (had me confused when I saw the pic. Marks I am referring to are the straight/rectangular lines and the area of dots clumped together.

Normally, after cleaning up the paint etc when bumped, it looks similar to this.

It was in for a service a few weeks ago but was not evident then. I think it was recent. No one else drives my car.

I am sure it was bumped. Hate that people do these things and just drive off, whether they tried cleaning/masking it or not.

The front bumper was resprayed when i bought it but the job the dealer got done was shitty and the paint start to flat just above the number plate and there are cut marks on the rear bumper from vinyl that the previous owner applied and cut too deep causing scratch marks so that means I will need both bumpers fixed now anyway.

I imagine this fix won't just be a case of sanding and painting.

It is very possible that it would not have caught your eye back then when it did go for a service, we all guilty of missing our cars too much to see everything once its back.

Some people in this world that doesn't care about other peoples cars!! My car also got scratched by someone by the malls, about 20cm line/dent down my back door and on black its easily visible. Hope you get it sorted :thumbs:

dude , I understand your frustration, this has happened to me previously, and unfortunately if it was not properly checked and noticed at the service centre then there is no way they will except responsibility.

Yeah. I have no proof when or where it happened so I have to deal with it personally now. A shlep but at least it isn’t big damage.

The missus had, what seems at least, marks on the passenger rear door of Hyundai from someone not parking correctly. That too mostly buffed out but people really need to start having some respect and taking some responsibility when they cause damage to other people’s stuff.
