I need more noise.

In the year of pop, bangs and farts, I need a little more aural pleasure from the rear of my F10.

Besides doing the whole exhaust - anything else (Sport is not loud enough) I can try?

Boxes?

Finding an Akra system is near impossible, there is a TMSS system on Gtree but it's for the M6 and the owner is unsure if it would bolt-on.

Which f10 is it? Diesel? Petrol? Got a downpipe?

Okay, disregard, it's an m5 based on your other posts. Downpipes would be a good start. That and a stage 1 file with slight burbles and exhaust note should help. But I am just guessing here. Not really an m5 expert. Generally on the smaller cars, 1 series etc. downpipe, and slightly bigger midpipe replacement with m performance box or even the stock box (because it's one rear box on the x35's as compared to the m5 which I suspect is two, one each size) makes a good difference without adding drone. Software just gives you that extra bit of noise and pop depending on settings.

Yes its an M5.

I'm a little weary for the DP's since prior turbo cars required to be remapped. I can't see the S63TU being any different?

If I go smaller on the rear boxes (keeping the tips) it should theoretically be a little louder?

Where is the exhaust flap located?

Remaps not required to fit downpipes.
One can simply use mini cats to prevent any motronic lights

What Danny has said above is correct. Downpipes with a cat fooler should do the job. Keeps things in check.

Flap if I'm not mistaken is on one of the tail pieces on each side.

Well, seeing as I'm out of mplan and my new motor's warranty just expired...

Where in Cape town would you suggest I go for a full exhaust and tune?

RGM has some serious claims with a serious price... (but they are in jozi)

All RGM will do is rob you of your moola and leave you with a dyno report thats fake as a hollywood celebs T & A...

Speak to Zaheer and Firoze from Rennzport in CPT and he will hook you up with quality parts... It is an M5 after all... Nothing but the best will do!

Evening bud.

Rennzport is primarily based in CT and on your doorstep. Zaahier and Charles should be able to assist with not just the exhaust, but also all cosmetics and future tuning mods if you so choose.

Pop us an email on [email protected] and we will be able to assist and map out your plans for the Beast.

1. Downpipes.

2.1. If you find an Akra available for a decent price grab it (someone had one for about R70K recently)...

2.2 Alternative is doing backbox deletes like the turner kit which lots of exhaust shops can do for you... playing with box size doesn't seem to have worked for most people.

Nobody seems to have imported Eisenmann, Supersprint or Armytrix M5 exhausts (I could be wrong but never seen em) so you would be out of luck trying to find these used and buying a new one would cost the same as a used Akra (if not more).

Trying to copy an Akra system in stainless steel has been attempted and failed... rather go with one of TMSS or XFlow's options if you want to go that route.

Stay away from RGM regardless of what car you are sending there. So many horror stories and fake results.

Fake results and horror stories from RGM, now I am informed too. On the surface, they seem legit.

I used to also hold them in high regard and I'm sure they were good once. Seems that they now ride on that reputation.

Little update

I've had the car for nearly 15 000km.

The first thing was the drop in Tweek filters, stage 1 map from ATM and the flap mod. Was fun for about 8000km. Got my hands a set of gutted Oem downpipes and fitted it with a stage 2 tune.

The car made 495 wkw and 950nm and sounded angry while doing it. I also started getting clutch slip and backed off, back to stage 1.

Car has been rock solid.

Nice power man. Glad you decided to mod.
I stand to be corrected on the M5 but for the N55, Aftermarket Downpipe have better flow and sound.

Great to hear...what is the flap mod though? Is it disabling the exhaust flaps...the DIY mod?

Your clutches started to slip so you backed off to Stage 1, why didn't your tuner log the car with you and adjust the torque application rather?

Where was the slipping points?
