Well, i drove 900km's with the car 3 weeks ago and the temp was fine, the fuel consumption is astonishing according to the trip computer, 11.5k's per litre at 100 and something km's per hour

its not really about the temp being fine its more about something braking suddenly bmw like to make exploding cooling systems...

find out what was changed in the past and replace what was not because the plastics get very brittle and can go suddenly...

Hi Guys.

On the subject of my 325i .

Is it supposed to max out at 220kph on the speedo ?

I cant get it to go faster

LoL I think thats as fast as it can go, even though the speedo optimistically shows top end at 260km/h

It gets worse - your speedo is probably a bit optimistic so your true speed is even less...

The factory spec top speed is about 230 km/h. Given factors such as difference in performance at the coast and at altitude and that your car is 18 years old I would be happy with an indicated 220 km/h.

My 323i has virtually the same top speed and IIRC I could get it to 220-225 km/h; on an abandoned air strip, of course.

Enjoy....I have just sold my '95 E36 325i, 492000km on the clock, hydraulic valve guides make a bit of noise on start up from cold, but it was not worth changing them. Camchain for sure....mine was single Vanos, and you could feel it...minor issues along the way, but never a bank breaker to repair.
