Was a quite easy thinking and only logic....

250.000 for a good M3 E46 (with higher mileage)
70.000 for carbon airbox and modified engine management incl. installation
50.000 CSL rims and good tyres
20.000 for upgrade of brakes
30.000 for nice sport seats
20.000 various small modifications

In sum about 440.000 for a still :"normal" M3 E46 which will for sure drop a lot in value in the next years....whereas its not that much more to buy an original CSL which wil not losse value and which is completely different (better) in all areas!

I see you def. had some modding in the pipeline for your e46 m3...which works out quite costly but realistic. You made the right choice buying the csl then.

Tell me bud....doesn't the SMG gearbox bother you? I heard theres a few downsides to it vs. manual gearbox? (Well, not that you have a choice with the csl anyway hehe)
I would just like to know you take on it because you specifically looked at getting an e46 m3 smg, if i remember correctly.

I had the SMG in my conv for 96.000 km....not even ONE problem during that! So...why not...??

Even when the SMG works perfectly the way it should, it is garbage.

Main reason why I sold my CSL.

The SMG is standard in the CSL...and I really love it...I have recognised that there is a huge difference between normal M3 and CSL SMG...

After my first weekend and about 350km around Joburg:

Even with today's technology there are few cars that will put the CSL to shame.

Being old school the gearbox is somewhat of a non desirable for me however for the newer generation I guess it is moving with the times.....
