I bought a diesel BMW. How times have changed.

Hey guys,

So I've been a passionate BMW Fanatic for as long as I can recall and I have fell in love with many of the generations bestowed upon us. Been fortunate enough to own a few too and I've just added another to the family. 2006 E90 330d a/t M-Sport. I had decided that we needed a more suitable family daily and I set my sites, very specifically on an E90 diesel variant.

Being an advocate for spark ignition I've always looked at diesels with connotations of commercial use and I actually remember saying to myself at some point I'd never buy one.... and wow, how times have changed!

I did a fair amount of fourm trawling, price shopping and actual viewing of vehicles and settled on the fact that the larger of the 2 engine options would best suit my wants.

Im looking forward to many happy kilometers in this car and just wanted to share my excitement.
Any recommendations on modifications and maintenance are welcome.

Hi. Great choice. Get the damper pulley done. Regular services, at least every 10k. If its an auto, get the gearbox services by ZF. Once thats done, DP and SW for sure. Itll transform the car.

Thank you for the tip about the pulley.
I plan on doing some fluid and filter changes this weekend.
I will have a good look around the suspension and brakes to see if there are any issues that need addressing urgently. Luckily it's just like my E82 :=):
