this is getting out of hand guys, its your car and your money if u want to turbo your car go ahead, what we are all forgeting is each person wants something different from his/her car. it could be power it could be looks but the fact is its his or her car. we are all individuals here. this sensless arguing is not right. we are supposed to be helping each other not putting each other down. lets not forget that

not arguing just saying there is a better way...

for $11k you can get a 600hp kit from AA
or you can get this HPF kit for $18k make less power and not have crisp throttle response

does not seem like a good deal to me...

Sidewayz, agreed fully... And I'm genuinely sorry if it comes across that way.

My point is just that I'm tired of people slating the S54 turbo conversions, citing a supposed lack of throttle response as the reason - if we're supposed to be helping each other here, surely that help should include not spreading fallacies about turbocharging M3's?

Supposing half the guys on the forum don't know jack about F/I on an M3, and they read the continuous turbo-bashing about how it has no throttle response, they'll believe it - coming from someone who's never even been in a proper turbo M3... Ask George Smooth about throttle response in a turbo M3 - he's had one.

If he says the curve and throttle response out of boost remains the same (or better) compared to a N/A one, then I'd be somewhat inclined to go with his experience as opposed to unsubstantiated opinion. Never mind getting into the debate that turbo's compensate for Gauteng's altitude-related power losses, making the same power they would at the coast, whereas N/A and supercharged cars don't..

I never advocated the twin turbo kit - my statements all along have been based on the larger single turbo kits - I personally don't rate the twin turbo kit's power curve up top as suitable to the S54's rev happy nature - as I mentioned in my first post on the subject. ;)

So a turbo is still better even though the SC give you more power for the money and better throttle response?

No where did i say there was no throttle response (Guess i was not clear enough about what i ment in my 1st post) i just said the SC was better if you dont want to make more power than a SC can deliver...

you will also notice that no where did i say turbos are rubbish they have their place but for this car SC is better unless you want to make more alot more than 600hp a SC is better...

but then again i guess i should just shut up because i know nothing...

AA stage 2 Kit $11500

Lots of interesting and educational views in this thread. Even though the forumites dont always agree on everything, robust debate like this helps to offer objective views on topics. Provided that there is no unnecessary mudslinging, as is the case here, these robust debates help to educate the novices like myself on these issues and hopefully save us some money in future if we decide to go F/I route.

stage 3 goes for $31,995.00 and gives you about 800hp like i said if you want alot more than 600hp a turbo is better, but this stage one kit is not very impressive...

Dont play with a Turbo ///M, especially rolling, they are killer. Guy around my place has a black e90 M supercharged, nothing like a V8 whoosh :inlove:
