HP4 Launch Control

Hey Guys,

This weekend we were playing around on my friends HP4.

For the life of me, we could not get the launch control to activate. Hold down the start button in neutral or first and nothing.

Shortly after he got the bike his suspension started freaking out and BMW did a software reset. Do you guys think he should take it to them to sort out or are we doing something wrong?

It should be in neutral and fully clutched. Pin the throttle. TRACTION CONTROL MUST NOT BE SWITCHED OFF. The bike locks at 8k rpm for launch. You will see the shift indication activity and see that the bike is in slick mode.

Thanks husain,

We tried doing that. Bike is at running temperature, in slick and neutral. Will confirm tonight fully clutched.

We cant get the 'L' to indicate in the selector. A few weeks ago it was working fine...

This is the process we are following, as shown in the book:

Clutch In, Slick Mode, Neutral, Hold down start button until selector indicates 'L'.

Ok just make sure with traction control on else it won't activate.

Think we will do a how to video on his bike, cause I struggled to find anything worth while online. I can only find videos on how someone is using it, not how someone actually activates it. :)
