How to drive an M3

I took delivery of a 2012 Mdct last Friday. sounds amazing.
I thought it a bit slowish (only slightly better that my 125i).

That was until I pressed the M button.
M for Mother!
M for Magic
M for Madhir
M for Mental

Anyhow - anyone know where I can find what M Dynamique is about, website that explains the Power button, how the EDC works etc?

Or you can just go ahead and explain.
I'm a bit scared of fecking up the car if I do things wrongly.

Thanks

Firstly, the fact that you say with out the M button it feels like your 125, means you should of kept your 125.

Secondly, It doesnt engage warp boost or give you extra HP, so its not that
much of a change.

What it does do is change the cars setting to the pre set's which you set up in the M dynamic menu

Stability controll
Traction controll
and it improves throttle response.

Just carefull. These South african Trees love jumping in the way of noob m3 drivers.

M button makes absolutely no difference in power on the M3. It only changes the throttle synchronization. ie - non power mode = 50% pedal travel = 50% throttle opening.

In M mode, 50% pedal travel = 75% throttle opening.

When your foot is welded to the floor, it makes no difference with M button on or off.

MDM is a function where you can access all your pre set settings at the touch of 1 button. It also raises the threshold where the DSC starts intervening.

Best advice is to go for am M training day and learn exactly what your car is capable of and if you are capable of handling it...

"Scotty, Can you give me warp speed?"

"No Cappen, the presets on the M button are not configured any longer, who knows how the engine might respond and theres an asteroid approaching, I cana hol et much longerrrr."

"Dammit Scotty, I said Warp speed!"

Piccard presses the M button, and they hit the asteroid dead centre, totaled the front of the Voyager (m3) and Captain piccard gets a nice airbag scrape across his face.

"Ha, says Scotty, that will teach him to press the M button when he doesn't know what it does."

You should also disable all driver aids, in fact unplug the module completely, that will really make the car fly.

What he said. Its simply a pre set setting, you can't change power output like you could in the E60 M5

EDC is your traction control settings if I remember correctly.
Or was that DSC?

EDC - electronic damper control = stiffness of the shocks

DSC - Dynamic stability control = the nanny that prevents you from falling off the road sideways.
