How much power will the new F30 M3 produce??

Okay so I'll start with a brief history lesson with regards to the M3 and M5.

here we have:
E30 M3 - 143KW - E28 M5 - 210kW
E36 M3 - 210KW to 236KW - E34 M5 - 232KW to 250KW
E46 M3 - 252KW - E39 M5 - 294KW
E92 M3 - 309KW - E60 M5 - 373KW
F30 M3 - ?????

Can you see the pattern here??.. Every new gen M3 has MORE power than the previous gen M5.. So that means than the F30 M3 should have more power than the E60 M5

BMW were just leading us on with their 333ish KW twin power turbo claim. It was their master plan before actually unveiling the all new 391KW F30 M3, powered from a quad turbo'd straight 6 :roflol::roflol:

j/k :fencelook:

Since it is turbo, it will be pretty pathetic if it doesn't produce 400kw at least.
I mean, the previous (or should we say last) NA 3.0l engine produced 200 kw, so if the turbo variant cant double its NA counterpart output, they are doing something wrong:fencelook:

if you talking about the new V8 twin turbo , it makes 412kw as per my connection at BMW.

Your connection appears to be misinformed. Is its pretty much confirmed to be a turbo straight 6.

Your connections obviously talking about the current gen M5 motor and not the next gen M3

I would say between 330kw-350kw. No more

The power war between manufacturers is over, even though Mercedes don't think so. BMW will focus more on drivability than power IMO, I would say 450BHP from the E9x's 414BHP, not sure what that is in KW.

Well the F10 M5 is 418 kW so it must be less than that...

and the E60 M5 was 373 kW so more than that...

400kW is a good guess

Just makes you wonder. If the F80 M3 and M4 will be 450hp or more, what will the next M3 after that be? 500hp? And the one after that?

Where does it end?

the focus of the engine will not be power but how it compliments the chassis like it has always been  expect conservative power with more focus on making the engine responsive... my guess is around 350kw

Power is nothing without a suitable configuration. The desire for outright power will slowly die out as more and more people will start to favour well-balanced and usable applications. Example: the facelift E63 will for the first time use an all-wheel-drive drive train to fully exploit the car's potential. It's no longer a power war, but an acceleration and "feel" war: 0-100 times, track times etc. The new E63 will blitz the F10 M5 from 0-100 (not because of power), whether it will be as good a driver's car remains to be seen.

Okay, essay done lol.

It's how you put the power down. Anyone in that category has the ability to make mega power under the bonnet but if it performs like a C63 on anything other than a straight road, what's the benefit?
