yes oem xenons, bumper cover came from a scrapyard (very rare). Both get stick regularly!

Why has SA named the e46 in M sport finish " individual " and there's a sport pack as well with not such an aggressive front splitter.

It is close to impossible to know with bmw SA as some sportspacks came with m tech i and others with m tech ii bumpers and this is on the f/l e46 (yes you got the facelift with m tech i as well) .

The individual can be seen to be a sportspack with more kit, what more i can honestly not say as i have not seen a consistent set of features on any two individuals apart from the obvious things. Best to tell apart is the individual says individual on the door sills and the sportpack has an m badge.

The individual can be seen as similar to the zhp that the guy in the states got except they had it in only 330i and had performance upgrades like diff an cams where we got no performance stuff but could get it in all models.

Easy Now...I believe only SA and possibly Australia badged the e46s with that Individual badge.Forgive me for saying this but there seems to be a very gullible consumer in SA who seem to fall for this "sport pack" and "M tech" thing. Its either SE or M sport - SE,no fancy diffusers just plain old blandy.Msport came with the different front and rear bumpers and aprons,M sport steering,Sport seats in alcantara and 18in MV wheels,SA got the 17' five star twin spoke ones.
M sport came in the older and newer versions
Ive not seen the word "individual" mentioned until a few months ago on the e92 with a funky colour scheme.
Also, the F30 was released in 3 trim finishes, one being sport - Not to be mistaken by the M sport finish launched some 6 months after the new shapes release.

I suppose that this is grinding on me cos I bought the e46 with sport pack with the 17 inch 8 spoke wheel.

More info of all M sport progress over the years - Notice no "Individual badges"

I welcome any correction if Ive misinformed

I think you misunderstand my post i was in no way defensive or attacking towards you, just a friendly discussion of the topic at hand.

It is probably much to do with with each local BMW house what they choose to brand the stuff, an what they would like to call the pack (which is in essence just a bunch of extras that you get by just ticking one box instead of lots of other boxes)
The individual is a bit different, in that the word individual is also on the identification plate in the engine bay (or at least the sticker).
There was actually one thing that set the individual apart from other cars as you could get it with optional individual colours as well, and later with optional 18'' wheels as well.
And yes there are a lot of gullible people around, there are after all people that buy new BMWs even though they will only be worth a fraction of what they paid in a couple of years time. Like the f30 i test drove a 328i a while back, and it is a very good car, but the price as this was there was just over 500k, now as good as it is i cant say they is is four times better than my 330.....that and i just will never pay that much money for a car with a four cylinder motor. But i also thank these people, because there was someone in 2004 that bought my 330i at a premium so that i can now have it.
