Isnt that the M3 front bumper?

I think so, but it came factory fitted? Isn't that what the M-Aerodynamics package is?

Thats an M3 front bumper - M sport/Individual kits has a different look altogether.
M Aerodynamics package is what you guys call the sport pack.

BMW SA have messed with the minds of their fans, introducing trim finishes which dont exist in other parts of the world.Perhaps its their way of pushing more units.

hmm, that's interesting, thought it was fitted at factory, when checking the VIN it said m aerodynamics package (me thinking M as in M3?), and the bumper is plastic, so thought it was factory fitted, and because it's a indv the original owner had the choice.

Seems that I was wrong then

Hey Bud....dont dispair
Now,heres an idea (you may have to change the whole front now)
Get some E46 front fenders, bonnet (or any pre facelift bonnet) and pre facelift lights. Then youve got what looks like an M3 but not cos it will have the gills on the fenders and no hump on the bonnet.
Roll the rear arches and stick some spaces to line the wheels with the body and youve got an e46 M3 4 door lookie likey.

Remove the aftermarket bumper , BMW would never have fitted it , replace with an M tech 2 individual bumper and your car will have its right presence . Awesome colour

Thanks to everyone sharing pics of their cars :praise: some awesome cars.

And thanks jerez for trying stir in this thread as well...luckily the e46 guys have thicker skins.
Whether BMW SA are trying to rip people off by calling the same thing something else here that in the rest of the world, or are just doing a bit of their own thing is irrelevant. BMW SA has done their own thing is the past as well....we go the the e34 540iM which is just a 6 speed manual that was released in other parts of the world....this doesn't make it any less special there are still only 72 (actually less) of them around.....the same goes for individuals, there is just a bit more of them around. Lets leave it at that.

It is close to impossible to know with bmw SA as some sportspacks came with m tech i and others with m tech ii bumpers and this is on the f/l e46 (yes you got the facelift with m tech i as well) .

The individual can be seen to be a sportspack with more kit, what more i can honestly not say as i have not seen a consistent set of features on any two individuals apart from the obvious things. Best to tell apart is the individual says individual on the door sills and the sportpack has an m badge.

The individual can be seen as similar to the zhp that the guy in the states got except they had it in only 330i and had performance upgrades like diff an cams where we got no performance stuff but could get it in all models.

If I recall correctly, the Individual were only available in 6 cylinder models, the 4 cylinder were just sportpack.

Here's mine:

If I recall correctly, the Individuals were fully imported from Germany, and not manufactured by BMW SA.
Just saying.

I stand to be corrected but I don't think that's true as all right hand drive e46 were assembled locally IIRC!
Nice rides gents
Can I add pics of my exclusive e46? :fencelook:

Fom What I remember when my ex worked for BMW, the Individuals were due to either a special order colour (think there were 7 here - Scarab green, Arizona sun, Velvet Blue Metallic which I had, Estoril blue, Sephia, Diamond black metallic and Brass Metallic - these were the colours available for the sedan here and there were a couple of other colours that were "individual" for the M3. There was a metallic dark red/plum-black colour as well but I have never seen that on an e46 car here - was used on a special e90 run out think prior to e90 LCI) , trim (alcantara, nappa leather), equipment spec (HK sound, navigation, sun roof) and was badged as such on the scuff plates in the sills as well as on the engine bay sticker/tag - otherwise if it was a "normal" spec and colour they were Msports. (stand corrected, but also I believe only the 6 cylinders)
I had two:
1st. Diamond black metallic, black alcantara, HK sound, sunroof, 330i (Diamond black became a mainstream colour around 2003 if memory serves)
2nd. Velvet blue metallic, cream nappa leather, HK sound, navigation, sunroof, 330i

Both badged as individuals due to the spec/combo. The "individual" was mainly referring to special colours accrding to BMWAG and was adopted in some markets to differentiate those from normal Msports.

Thats what I can remember being explained to me....:tiptoe:
