How do you "open" an E36 Headlight?

So gents i stripped out my headlights this weekend to try clean them as one has collected quite a bit of dust inside.

The main part that holds the lenses comes off easily but what about the actual glass?

There are 4 small clips all around it but then when one tries to pry it there is NO movement? Is it an issue of more force or different techniques etc? Is it held in with silicone like the lenses or is it just an old rubber?

They are siliconed together and will break if you try separate them, remove the inner lenses and clean the glass like that. Once you done then glue the inner lenses back on with a glue gun or silicon:thumbs:
