Easy,

Treat everybody the same, I might not be able to purchase a new BMW at this point in time but who knows what the future holds...:=):

If you impress me with your service then I will definitely come back to you and also tell all my friends about the great service which I've received from a specific BMW dealer.

Hold on. Please help me understand this.
Do used BMW dealers not offer Approved Used Car warranties/ checks....AUC.
Please keep in mind that this dealership knows me well and I've made many referrals to them since 2012

I thought that their 100 point used car check was an international thing, covering even the slightest squeak .

I took delivery of my 2011 M3 on the 16/01.
There was a small kink on the rear bumper
Small scratch on the front
Squeaky fan
Small stone chip on windscreen
Fuel wasn't filled to max indicator

I complained and said that the car wasn't up to the the AUC standard.
The car was collected.
And a 2016 X5 M Sport dropped off as a replacement car.
All points fixed
Mini champ M3 Model car came as a token of apology for Shite service
£150 eat out voucher for the inconvenience

So, there shouldn't be any reason why buying an approved used out to be any different

Send the BMW used car salesman over to a Lexus dealership to pretend they're an interested client. Ask them to take notes, collate, summarise outcomes and implement at BMW dealerships :fencelook:

I saw an advert in the Sunday Times this Sunday, Hyundai is now offering a standard warranty up to 200 000km on new models.

Not that I'm a huge fan, but it really got my attention.

Would be great if BMW can up their warranties (minus the service plan maybe) to give peace of mind to used car customers.

Believe me there is no lack in the lack of service delivery from all forms of business in South Africa.

I highly doubt the "normal" M3 owner would be treated in the same manner in which you where treated.

Funny, I have only ever had problems with one of my BMW's but I think it was a Friday afternoon car, but with regards to service, in the most they have been impeccable.

realistically, i dont think the used car market is of any interest to BMWSA.

they're just there to push out brand new cars...and approved second hand cars because they can control the conditions around those vehicles. so for the rest of us, they really couldnt give a damn.

i dont think they would need to visit a Lexus dealer.. they just need to visit VWSA and take notes. those guys have saved my ass plenty times now and im not even in SA! hats off to those VW guys :coolShake:

maybe offer better trade values. something close to book values. damn its a joke.

all the checks for second hand cars arent worth much either, I believe its a tool for them to allow them to wash their hands in innocence if something is wrong.
I bought my car, got busy and only managed the first wash 6 weeks later when I noticed a broken fog light. They gave me a lot of pushback saying the car was inspected. sending me pictures of the inspection and dealer pictures that shows nothing as proof. Treating me like the criminal until I per chance could show a picture I took at the dealership before I left.

Dont buy a BMW -

They cant even support models after 8-10 years The techies are so young they have not worked on those cars.

Yet they will support spares up-to 15 years. Most spares not available at factory. so you wait from Germany.

They only want to move the metal and forget about you afterwards.

You have to research on your own, DIY OR support good workshop that works on BMW's

they should stop lying for a start.
I was told none of their used cars were in an accident. Then I showed the chop which car was in an accident.
I don't trust them at all

I have a Hyundai too. Don't be too optimistic about that warranty. We had numerous issues and used the warranty. By year 5 what are you really going to get out of the warranty that isn't going to be claimed as a wear and tear item?

Service plan has NOTHING on motorplan.

Also Lexus in recent times has become complacent. Don't know about the cars, don't follow up, lack of interest (specifically Midrand).

They have caused damage to the car (and claimed it was impossible to have happened at the dealer) as well as leaving the engine bay oily and dirty... What use is the warranty if you are second guessing the work done on the car?

Agree with most of the other points, particularly used car inspections. Auto Bavaria went out of their way to make sure I was happy and aware of issues which they rectified prior to me taking delivery.
