Come to think of it, there is much to be learned from this behavior. What is the difference between whats happening now and what happened when the Voortrekkers where attacked by marauding bands. There is no difference. It shows that the savagery from primitive Africa was just masked by colonial dominance, and as the colonialist structures erode, the savage emerges again to plunder. I'm not into politics, I don't support violence or oppression, neither do I condone malicious racism, but I'm not blind or stupid. We are at the dawn of anarchy in this country. :nonono:

Was listening to Nick Cave earlier, you dont want me to haul that stuff out, as it will scare most chickens..

I feel Colin's desperation though, I have had the same worries for a while now, and the recent political instability being the fuel to the fire.

I blame Malema, and the one to follow him, not for his antics and greed for his false hope and misguidance that he is giving a starving morally bankrupt nation.

The crux of the matter, all signs are pointing to certian destruction of the SA community as we know it.

I have always been of the view that SA can survive anything, and will prosper as long as our mineral (read mining) resources and our banking sector stays strong.

I did my thesis on the 2007 global economic crash and the effects that it had on listed SA companies, with an emperical study done by evaluating all companies on the JSE and AltX, and in short, after 15,000 words of mindless dribble, the answer was... not much, SA has an exceptionally stable (perhaps not strong, but stable) economy,

But now, in SA, we are starting to "fsck with the fundementals" for our own riches and gains, our forced inflation by these strikes is not sustainable, and we are going to loose our economic power, through mismanagement and greed, under the banner of "apartheid"

I honestly predict that we are going to loose SA. and our future, and I think its already too late.

I'm not saying it wont happen in the future, but things arent quite that desperate yet...

I understand your concerns, but have my doubts about the wisdom of moving abroad for the sake of your son. I've been down that road, and ended up a nomad with no roots. It's all well and good to consider the future, but is emigration really an option? When the costs are considered, in both financial and psychological terms, is the gain greater than the penalties? We are South African, like it or not, and we must make the best of what we have, a beautiful country, tremendous climate, good education still available and a lifestyle which is VERY hard to match anywhere else. I used to think exactly the same, but things are rapidly changing now, we are taking a turn for the worst here. I don't think this country is salvageable any more, too many people with too little intellect and a government that cannot manage that.

:argh: I feel your pain bru these drivers are asking for ridiculous increases they are earning a decent wage at the moment compared to our other african countries but still they come with these ridiculous demands they dont understand that if the trucking companies give in to their demands then its going to have a domino effect and everybody feels the pinch in the end I was also driving in pinetown last week and saw these strikers stone some trucks these idiots dont seem to realise that they could kill that innocent driver for nothing:cursin:

its a sad reality we face in this country today ,i feel striking is being used an abused as people please with no consideration for the innocent that are affected ,
i have had my van damaged in phillipi last month cause they where striking for jobs and it was just passing thru droppin off employees coming from work !! the week before that i had my tazz written off by a taxi cause the robots where burnt out and the driver failed to use it like a 4 way stop .
when the guys in my industry strike then half of my staff dont pitch for work cause they to scared to leave home as they get threatend if they dont partake in the strikes ,this is ridiculous !
i hope and pray that we find some resolution to this problem i cannot see myself leaving this country cause people are trying to turn it into an unmanageble state ,and when u do use ur firearm they treat u like a criminal ,:thumbdo: jmtcw

37000 school books still havent been delivered,and its the end of the year,so what is our future south sfrician being taught

my point is if you want to EARN learn a skill that allows you to do that... I know security guards that are studying to better themselves... they dont just sit there and expect a fat pay check...

they realize their work is kak and are doing something about it not holding the country ransom because they lazy...

you cant do a 0 skill job and expect good money because there are millions out there that can do your work its all about supply and demand... trying to create artificial demand by striking and intimidation wont work long term... long term the strikers loose their job...
