i have a e46 325ti and constantly hear a rattle in the centre of my dashboard, i have no idea what it could be, it sounds as if a part is loose and is knocking from side to side. Over the weekend i removed the radio to see if the loose part is visible, everything looked and felt in tact. after i put the radio back in, the rattle dissapeared. Yesteday it started again. Any ideas on what it could be?

i have a similar problem with my car but the rattle only started after i fitted a cd player. I think the guy that installed the cd player in my car could have damaged one of the clips that holds the aluminium panel that surrounds the radio :cursin:

Solution, Put your radio Volume up higher to drone out all noises.. This fix works for anything that makes a noise.. My mom uses this technique all the time & solved all her car problems for years, Until @ 88K Km the Engine seized :) (Manufacturing fault by BMW & Replaced by BMW)

iv tried that, and the rattle can still be heard, so either i should get it sorted or buy a louder system...:) . it think il go with sorting it out...im prob going to disconnect the radio and drive around with an open centre piece to see what is causing shaking..
