High revs before auto box changes up

Hi I am a newbie to forum and have a problem with my 2002 E39 AUTO.
I have noticed recently that the engine seems sometimes to be reving
quite loud before changing up gears. I had a problem a few weeks ago when my auto cooler hose came off and drained a lot of oil from gearbox, it was refilled at a bmw independent garage but since then it seems to have developed this problem, Its driving me mad. There are no leaks to be seen but I am afraid that they have not put enough oil into the gearbox when they refilled it. Would this cause the problem I am having or is there another possible cause? Is the box Knackered or the torque converter??????
Any help or input would be much appreciated.

Could be that the oil level is not correct. I had my GM gearbox serviced at SF in Cape Town and it is quite a process to get the correct level. Has to be at the right temperature, engine running, etc. So could be that your guys did not fill it to the correct level? Hope that it is the case!
