Hi everyone,

Interested in buying the above car, it is currently on 185,000kms and selling for R150k. Looks really neat inside and out, engine bay too. Will find out tomorrow from BMW about the car's m/plan history and comments.

From what I've read/heard the N52/N53 series of engines are quite robust, only typical areas of concern are the waterpump and thermostat.

If everything checks out looking to get a deal done late this week or early next week. So if anyone has any tips or concerns about a high miler 323 please let me know

Cheers!

i traded mine in,2008 with 132000km on clock

185000 seems high for year model

maybe check around for lower mileage one to compare

Yeah it is on the high side. For lower mileage, same year and spec I'd need + R190k, or around R170k for a standard spec one. Can only be financed up to R160k. If the car's in good condition I don't mind the miles.

Believe me I would looooooove to get a 330i! Unfortunately if the model year is earlier than 2010 then the instalments go way up plus I'll need a deposit...
There is almost no six cylinder motoring at this price level and year :(

Installments doesn't go up if the car is older than 2010, it goes up if the price or the interest rate goes up. For 150k you can find a very nice 6 cylinder... just saying

Instalments will go up because if it's older than 2010 I'll have to repay in 36 months. Right now the deal on offer is 48 months with no deposit.

It seems like you are on a very tight budget at the moment? I wonder if buying a high mileage BMW is really the best option. What if you need to replace a flywheel and clutch, a set of injectors, maybe the diff (Colin had his replaced on his 323i). These are very expensive parts and the risk increases quite substantially as the mileage go up.

Find an alternative financer, there should not be a finance period restriction on a 2010 model car.

Who is doing your finance? That sounds a bit like a loan shark or someone of the ilk...

Yeah, seems you on tight budget.....why not cut your risk and go with a new car, instead of a high miler. Seen these around they look great. I'm not aware of what type of vehicle you require.
