High grip tyres

Heya Guys,

Still on my quest to get my M135i. I went to the dealer over the weekend to ask some questions. I am looking at buying the auto box and want the high grip tyres. Now, they tell me you cannot take the high grip tyres with the auto box, only the manual. This sounds a bit iffy to me. Anyone on here that has an auto with the high grip tyres?

Thanks

What are these " high grip tyres" you speak of

Probably Michelin Pilot Super Sport. :dunno:
But I think your dealer is feeding you :bs:

As far as I know the M135 does not come in manual.

The "High Grip Tyre Option" is only available on the M135.

So sounds like BS to me.

I am also thinking BS, just want some sort of confirmation from another M135i buyer. But they are willing to give such a good deal :( So do not wanna go elsewhere. Maybe run flats will be ok :(

You can either choose runflat tyres or "High Grip Tyres" on the BMW website when you configure your car. So from what I can gather is that it is the Michelin Pilot Sport tyres instead of the runflats. Now the dealer says you can only select that if you take the manual. Sounds crap to me..

On the Virtual Dealer you can select the option with the Auto Transmission, at the dealer when they config your car they use the same system.

I think he is pulling a fast one on you.

+1^

Trying to get you not to take the more expensive tyre option ,so they can make more profit. And the M135i should come with the Pilot Super Sport tyres, not the Pilot Sport tyres. :nono:

Its supposed to be a No Cost Option.

I think they probably trying to get rid of floor stock.

I heard the same (which was about a VW DSG) :fencelook: that isn't advisable to put slicks or semi slicks onto a DSG / SMG box

Something about the it needing some slip from the tyres else there will be too much strain on the gearbox or something.

Dunno how true it is though :fencelook:

I can put you in contact with a dealer (sales rep) that will help you get what you want. :dunno:
