Hi Guys im new to this i have an E90 2007 330i and hope to learn more about my car with your guys help,

i currently have an issue but was all of a sudden the car drives great but on start up i leave it to idle a while and then it has a ticking noise from the engine left hand side corner as well as on saturday for the first time i pushed the car from park to reverse and then the rev counter jumped above 1000rpm and back down to almost cut off and then back to standard idle,

is there anyone else who has experianced this issue as well ? would like to know what it could be.

It might be your exhaust vanos seloniod that is going, best would be to get the car diagnose and then see the error that comes. If it is this unit then it is going to cost you R1800 for it.

really appreciate the assistance, i just booked the car in at BMW now to have the Diagnostic done, i did do the 1 where they put the car key on the system and check and they did advise that the car was fine but i guess it would be best to do a diagnostic as this would be more accurate,
