Hi

Gents most guys knows me as Tauzty, I've been browsing this forum for ages , as I drive a turbo opel I never really registered just browsing . But now after purchasing my first bm ever after driving countless e46 330i for about a year , I decided I really wanted one and my wife .

I got me a Avus Blue e39 540i from GP 2000model with 210k on the clock .(I just love how bms have huge rear tyres on stock )

The current things I have done to the car : decatted it fitted foolers and removed every single silencer on the car and ended up fitting a full 73mm exhaust system. She poops lekker now and a real screamer and really likes smoking up the rear tyres with ease :rollsmile:.

Besides that I love the car to bits that I hardly drive my opel anymore its so much car and kicks me in the seat:thumbs: just as hard as my opel does and considering this car is stock besides for the exhaust .

Hope to meet and chat with you guys/girls soon as I have a sunroof problem that refuses to tilt :argh:.

Welcome bud. Glad to see another E39 :thumbs: Wanted the 540i, but eish...

Mine also has a tilt problem. Slides easily back and forth, just won't bloody tilt.

LOL thanks gents :) it bit so badly that Tuesday night I went alone to a certain industrail area and let her rip lol was just crazy how this thing lights up the rear with no effort lol.

Will post pics soon just trying to figure out how:fencelook:

i chose the 5series as it had much more leg room then the e46 and the E39 got so much toys it feels like a hotel on wheels and just sounds good and really goes well for a big car lol .

Wife moans when I leave the opel for her to drive , thinking the bm was for her actually lol


my fav part is this cars wide stock wheels, But I am thinking of going 19s as I think the tyres will be cheaper then the rears 275 on which Im struggling to find locally here in cape town
I will take more pics once I get a chance with the light and spots switched on .




Some cosmetic things I done was make all the chrome trimmings black and the stock wheels I got totally refurbed took out all the scratches and made the centre of the mag graphite grey and high polished the lips . and the rear spoiler which was blue made that black also.

I have some small dents on the door which hopefully I will sort out in the future , but for now I need to get that sunroof to tip lol

about to get wheels similar to yours, and also do the center a similar colour, can you share some more pics of your wheels please, what size etc

Hi

Im not really sure what J there are all I know when I bough the car they were silver and the lips wasnt shiny due the previous owner taking no care.

they genuine bmw motorsport mags I know and think they exactly the same as the set you get on the z3 3.0i (http://users.belgacom.net/bmw_z3/bmw_z3_coupe.htm ) . My rear tyres on the car are 275-40-17s I think the rears mag size is 9j and the front is 7.5j as they narrow the front tekkies are 225-40-17s .

once I make these tyres klaar I will be fitting 275-40 on rear again and the 235 on the front .

It costed me R2000 to refurb the mags took about a week a used way less then a litre paint . the long part was getting the dishes nice and shiny and clean again . But i must say it looks crazy from the rear

looks like they are staggered bmw/bbs style 42 wheels:inlove:
im going to pay my deposit on mine tomorow:joy:
they are 8j front and 9j rear, they suit the car so well:inlove:dont go 19's, i would stick with these awhile:thumbs:

where are you finding 275 17" tyres, they hard to find?
any rubbing/arch scraping with the 275s?
