Help ! Slow start up on E90 320i

Hi guys, some help needed please.
My 320i 07 with 150k has this annoying problem. It starts up very slow after driving for a while.or when car is hot.

In the mornings, it's starts normal, as soon as you push the engine start button in. But after I have driven the car, park it, (few hours), then start again, it takes like 6 secs to start up. What could this problem be? No engine lights are showing and some diagnostics does not pick it up. It's getting really frustrating (and embarrassing) coz it seems like I have no fuel in my car.

Could it be the alternator, starter, battery, injectors? I want to take it to bmw to have it checked but advise here would be highly appreciated. I hope it's not something to serious as this is my daily and I do long distance mileage with it.

Any advice.shot guys.

Get the car scanned for errors, until then it's a guessing game :coolShake:

Does it run/start rough once it gets going or is it just a long wait and then the car starts/runs perfectly?

It's just the long wait on start up.car runs perfect.

Had similar symptoms when my fuel pump was going out. Can't really tell unless codes are read.

Was it the fuel pump though?

It was. The car would cut out when the symptoms got worse.

listen for a faint whining whistling sound at the rear, if it were the fuel pump it'd make that noise, also a cheap no harm possible solution is on your next fill up throw a bottle of injector cleaner in your tank and do some spirited driving this will clean up any muck in the system that could be a cause. if not, like above get it scanned for errors as it could be 1 of many issues, plugs, injectors , relays, pump , starter, igintion etc etc etc

Hi I had the same problem that you are describing the car will just crank for a few seconds before actually starting up or sometimes it wont and you will have to push the button again. it turned out it was a leaking fuel injector.

Hi it's an injector that is leaking.
You can replace only the one that is leaking.
